ACL Annual Meeting ~ Tuesday, January 16 at 7:30 pm

Please join us for annual ACL meeting on Tuesday, January 16!  We will review circulation statistics, programming, our budget, and general ACL operations.  We will also vote on our board members.  Just a time to bring everyone together once a year to discuss the state of the library and generally swoon about what a great thing we’ve got going.

Who is presently on the board or an officer of the ACL, you ask?  These are the folks who, in addition to staffing regular volunteer shifts, help with the finances, programming, circulation, holdings acquisition, and policies of the ACL: Johanne Campbell (treasurer), Ellen Chu, Barb Day, Dana Hanson (outgoing president), Lenna Kutner, Janet Linder, Liz Miller (assistant treasurer), Liz Noon, Robyn Phillips, Lynn Slobodin, Martha Sweet, Christopher Weinmann, and Linda Winslow (secretary).  We look forward to voting in two new co-presidents at our upcoming meeting–Ellen Chu & Christopher Weinmann.

Thanking our Piano People!

The ACL was thrilled to host a Newton Arts Festival “Artful Piano” once again this year.  We all enjoyed the piano for several weeks at the library.  The piano left us this week, but we hope to host another one next year.

We thank the following community folks for a tremendous piano season!
Rumyana Gizdova & Breadsong Bakery for being the primary caretakers of the piano

Melinda Gordon for her fantastic purple Prince-inspired design

Maria Beatriz Arvelo (citywide chair of the Artful Pianos)

Lakshmi Narayan for spearheading our community concert
