Looking for a neighborly community-based volunteer activity this fall?  We’d love to bolster our Auburndale Community Library volunteer ranks.  Here’s how it works: you sign up for a shift when it’s convenient for you (maybe once or twice a month) and you help keep our little library going strong!  Contact danakhanson@gmail.com for the link for volunteer signups and we’ll train you on the job–it’s an easy peasy gig.

ACL Teens ROCK

We had a great summer season with our ACL Teens at the library.  They helped with general volunteering, Tuesday Storytimes, and our special programming on Wednesdays.  Many, many thanks to our future generation of library lovers!!

Do You Like To Garden?

We’re always looking for an extra set of hands to assist our ACL gardeners Alla and Liz.  The current tasks at hand are removing bulbs and planting flowers.  If you are available to assist, please contact Alla at allawebster@gmail.com.

Help us keep our front circle garden looking great all season

Let’s Revive the Auburndale Community Association

For many years all of Auburndale was joined as a village by an extremely vibrant neighborhood organization called the Auburndale Community Association (ACA). The ACA used to run a fabulous Village Day. (One of the earlier Village Days in Newton.) The folks that run Rove the Cove are the remaining stewards of the ACA, but we could use an infusion of new energy and ideas to do more!  Some Auburndale people have recently expressed an interest in revitalizing the ACA. A group of residents are thinking of beginning that effort, and anyone interested in playing a small, or a large, roll in this organization should contact lynn.slobodin@gmail.com Also feel free to send along questions.  If this effort is successful in resurrecting our village organization, the hope is to hold a large community wide meeting at the Village Bank lobby in the fall.

Many Thanks to Our May ACL Volunteers
