These volunteers donated their time and talents at the ACL in July. Next time you see one of them around town, give them a big ol’ hearty THANKS!

Looking for a neighborly community-based volunteer activity this fall? We’d love to bolster our Auburndale Community Library volunteer ranks. Here’s how it works: you sign up for a shift when it’s convenient for you (maybe once or twice a month) and you help keep our little library going strong! Contact email@example.com for the link for volunteer signups and we’ll train you on the job–it’s an easy peasy gig.
We had a great summer season with our ACL Teens at the library. They helped with general volunteering, Tuesday Storytimes, and our special programming on Wednesdays. Many, many thanks to our future generation of library lovers!!
Desperately needed craft supply clean-out — our teens tackle the tough jobs!
We’re always looking for an extra set of hands to assist our ACL gardeners Alla and Liz. The current tasks at hand are removing bulbs and planting flowers. If you are available to assist, please contact Alla at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Help us keep our front circle garden looking great all season
For many years all of Auburndale was joined as a village by an extremely vibrant neighborhood organization called the Auburndale Community Association (ACA). The ACA used to run a fabulous Village Day. (One of the earlier Village Days in Newton.) The folks that run Rove the Cove are the remaining stewards of the ACA, but we could use an infusion of new energy and ideas to do more! Some Auburndale people have recently expressed an interest in revitalizing the ACA. A group of residents are thinking of beginning that effort, and anyone interested in playing a small, or a large, roll in this organization should contact email@example.com Also feel free to send along questions. If this effort is successful in resurrecting our village organization, the hope is to hold a large community wide meeting at the Village Bank lobby in the fall.
It’s That Time of Year again! NewtonSERVES 2017, is on Sunday, April 29th. We will be gardening at the Auburndale Community Library from 12 noon until 3:30 PM. We hope we’ll have many hearty volunteers join us to help spread compost, clean beds, and plant spring flowers, also visit with other gardeners and have some fun. It is important to sign up on-line at the NewtonSERVES website in order to get on the list for a souvenir 2018 NewtonSERVES T SHIRT.
