You Make the Difference!

Every year as we approach Thanksgiving, we are reminded of how grateful we are for the myriad of ways you continue to support the Auburndale Community Library – from your generous donations that allow us to keep the shelves stocked with the latest bestsellers, to your tireless volunteering to keep our doors open, to the steady attendance of our Story Time programs and other events – none of these things could exist without your contributions and support.

Thank you so much to our current volunteers: AnnaMaria Abernathy, Charlotte Anderson, Debbie Bowen, Margaret Braccio, Maria Bueche, Jill Butler, Caroline Cai, Guy DiPietro, Johanne Campbell, Susan Cassidy, Ellen Chu, Margaret Crook, Barb Day, Clare Eberman, Carol Gladden, Laurie Friedell, Dana Hanson, Rosemary Hinteregger, Iah House, Brenda Jaster, Phyllis Katz, Suruchi Kaul, Joan Klaski, Lenna Kutner, Samantha Lee, Janet Linder, Jorge Manguane, Nancy Mazur, Pat McCaffrey, Liz Miller, Deb Moore, Tim Moore, Robyn Phillips, Nathan Phillips, Nancy Price, Ann Purcell, Felicia Quesada, Jaye Schneider, Junko Shibuya, Lynn Slobodin, Jay Snyder, Michelle Sroussi, Ed Sugrue, Martha Sweet, Iza Synott, Alla Webster, Becca Webster, Chris Weinmann, and Erica Wieher.

To all of you who have supported us all these years, your patronage and donations have enabled us to continue being the heart of the Auburndale community. If you can, please consider making a gift donation to the ACL so that we can continue to offer the services, books, craft kits, story times, community, and more. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Join our Volunteer Team!

We invite you to join our volunteer team as we expand our opening hours and begin to ramp back some of our programs and offerings. Please consider lending us a hand. No library experience necessary! Plus, we offer training!  Please fill out our Volunteer Interest Survey and we will be in touch. Thank you!

New Wednesday Hours…

We’ve added our new Wednesday hours, 2-4pm, to coincide with the early release schedule for Newton Public Schools. Plus, there is currently some interest in the community for a Wednesday afternoon social hour. If you are interested in informally organizing and/or dropping in for a Wednesday afternoon community chat, board game/puzzle session, crafts hour, or more, please come by and let us know.

Story Times

It has been so terrific to welcome children and caregivers to our outside Story Times. We were sorry that the weather did not cooperate with our special Halloween event. BUT, things are looking good for this Tuesday, November 9th.  Join us on the lawn for stories about SOUP!

Looking ahead – weather permitting, we hope to host one more outside Story Time with books and songs about Thanksgiving.  And, we are working out details for sharing stories, songs and crafts to-go with you in the winter months.  Check our Facebook page and website for updates.  In the meantime, stop by our Children’s Room to read, do some puzzles and maybe even bring your favorite stuffies for a Puppet Show!

We Are So Grateful…

Many thanks as always to all our patrons, donors and volunteers for your ongoing support. And to our perennial sponsors, The Village Bank and Lasell University, for their sustaining financial support. Story Time – next is Tuesday July 6, 10:30am

While our Story Time duo have (susp)ended their YouTube careers, the subsequent outside Story Times have been a great success. We are so happy to see our families in person and look forward to welcoming you back to the library sometime in the Fall. In the meantime, check our Facebook page for additional outside Story Times.

We are currently working on our summer storytime schedule. The next one will be on Tuesday, July 6 at 10:30am. Craft kits will no longer be available to order, but they will be ready to hand out to your little ones after the outdoor Story Times. Thanks so much for all the views and likes. We have greatly enjoyed bringing stories, songs and crafts to you during this challenging time.
