Author Talk: NPR’s Scott Simon to Speak on Thursday Nov 5

One of the ACL’s volunteers has informed us about a special author event sponsored by another non profit organization in the Newton community. Scott Simon, host of NPR’s Weekend Edition, will be this year’s speaker for the Good Shepherd Community Care Institute’s annual dinner on November 5, at 6pm at the Westin in Waltham. Attendees will get to hear Scott talk about his newest book, Unforgettable, a memoir documenting his conversations with his mother during their last week together, and will also receive a free, signed copy of the book. Click here for more information about this event.

Good Shepherd Community Care was founded in 1978 in Newton as Hospice of the Good Shepherd and is the original Massachusetts hospice. Its annual dinner is part of a larger program designed to inform and support the often difficult conversations that help to insure quality at the end of life.
