Calling Our ACL Teen Volunteers! Summer Planning Meeting, Tuesday, June 26 at 11 am

The 2011-2012 was a terrific success for our core ACL teen volunteers Meilsa, Gina, Anisha, Isadora, Rachel, Elizabeth, Katie, Sarah, and Eve.  These gals have been behind-the-scenes heroes on all sorts of projects at the library–from running storytimes and craft activities, to writing book reviews, to shelving and organizing books, to laminating our books for circulation.  We’re scratching our heads wondering how we ever got along without you!

We have received queries from other teens about what they can do at the library now that schedules have freed up this summer.  We’re putting together some group and independent projects for our teen volunteers to tackle over the upcoming months.  Anyone who is interested in learning more is encouraged to attend an informational meeting this coming Tuesday, June 26 at 11 am at the library.  Note, our first meeting is being held on a Tuesday morning, but we will have weeknight and weekend volunteer opportunities, too.

GUYS are welcome, too!  We’d love to add some teen-run guy-friendly activities in addition to our beloved Magic Club.  Perhaps Manga?  Or digital photography?  Youth entering grades 6 and up are invited. for more information.
