DWN: Caring for Your Elderly Family Member: Planning Ahead: Thursday, March 18 at 6:30 pm

Discovering What’s Next® invites you to join Emily Saltz, LICSW, CMC and Director of Elder Resources in Newton, for a Discover Realities Meeting-Up, “Caring for Your Elderly Family Member: Planning Ahead.”

Explore the changing dynamic between elderly parents and their adult children during late life. Learn about the unique challenges faced by the “sandwich generation” in caring for an elderly family member. Participants will learn how to assess the needs of their elderly relative; how to communicate their concerns, and how to take action steps to resolve crises.

Ms. Saltz is founder and Director of Elder Resources, a private practice providing a full range of geriatric care management services for elderly clients and their families since 1992. She received her Masters in Social Work from BU and is a past president of the New England Chapter of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Previously, she was a staff consultant to attorneys and clients at ElderLaw Services and has written extensively on issues including guardianship, caring for aging parents and ethical issues in aging.
